  Monitors local, county and state issues affecting business:
  Represents the business community with a strong business focused voice.

• Assist city officals to implement the Economic Strategy for Atascadero completed by consultant ADE.  
• Revise Chamber Public Policy guide stating the chamber's position on key business issues. 
• Actively participate in the formulation of and continue to monitor legislation affecting business at city, county and state levels. 
• Encourage business involvement in council and planning commissions
• Be involved with Main Street and the Redevelopment Agency.
• Create a business friendly atmosphere for business attraction and expansion efforts.

Ribbon Cuttings Welcome New Business to the Chamber

Highlights of 2008:

• Met with City officials to aid our local business expansion and relocation efforts.
• Assisted businesses during the City permit process with improved communication with the Community Development Department.
• Successfully educated voters on many State and local propositions that would have a negative effect on business.
• Commissioned a survey of residents and businesses regarding Wal-Mart and the Del Rio project. 
• Researched Chamber’s position on key business issues for the update of the Chamber Public Policy Guide.
